The Nigeria Football Federation Congress will hold in Abuja
tomorrow without the much talked about election into the executive
board of the nation’s highest football governing body as earlier
scheduled.
Nigeriaournation reliably gathered that the latest development was
the outcome of a meeting between the Secretary to the Federal
Government, Anyim Pius Anyim, the Honourable Sports Minister, Tammy
Danagogo, and the warring factions of the out-going NFF board in Abuja
last night.
A top official of the out-going executive board of the NFF who does
not want his name in print disclosed that a new date and the modalities
for the election would be decided at tomorrow’s meeting.
“The congress will hold on Tuesday (tomorrow) in Abuja instead of
Warri as previously scheduled but it is not going to be an elective
congress” the NFF top wig disclosed”
“This was the out-come of a meeting between the Secretary to the
Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim, the Sports Minster, Tammy
Danagogo, and the warring factions this night (last night)” our source
further disclosed.
“It was agreed that all interested candidates be allowed to contest
the election under a free and fair atmosphere to ensure that credible
people emerge to run the affairs of Nigerian
