Insecurity: Jonathan seeks $1 billion

President Goodluck Jonathan  Wednesday wrote to the  National Assembly seeking for approval of a $1 billion loan to facilitate the federal government's war against terrorism and other  security challenges in the country.

It was gathered that President Jonathan's request may be considered and approved Thursday.
before  the  National Assembly’s annual recess.

The two chambers are expected back in September.

The request for approval was contained in a letter titled: “Tackling ongoing security challenges for urgent action”, dated July 15, 2014,  and  addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representative, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
