A manager with a commercial bank in Ibafo, Obafemi-Owode, Ogun State has committed suicide.
Habeeb Olatunde, 44, who until his death a manager with a new generation bank in Lagos was earlier declared missing for days.
A team of police detectives from the Ibafo Divisional Headquarters
led by a Chief Superintendent of Police, Salawu Jimoh later discovered
his lifeless body hanging on a ceiling in an uncompleted building in
Arepo, near Ibafo last Saturday.
The police command had circulated the news of Olatunde’s
disappearance at Ibafo Division on 19th June 2014 after which the police
intensified efforts to find him.
A native of Kwara State, Olatunde was said to have requested and granted casual leave before he took his life.
The decomposing body, according to the state Police Public Relations
Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi had been released to his family for burial.
He added that investigations did not reveal any foul play as there was no mark of violence on his body.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye commended the
members of the community for their support towards achieving adequate
security of lives and property in their area.
